David Nelson Dillehunt (born April 5, 1984 in Charlottesville, Virginia) is an American film director, television producer and composer. He is best known as the director of ''You Can't Do That on Film'',〔(Monkey See: Pop-Culture News and Analysis from NPR )〕 the 2004 documentary about the cult-classic children's series, You Can't Do That on Television. Other notable works include his sketch-comedy series, ''Caught in the Act,'' the 2008 feature-length comedy, ''Craptastic,''〔(''Craptastic'' at the Internet Movie Database )〕 and the 2011 documentary ''We Are Astronomers'', which premiered at the Virginia Film Festival. Dillehunt has self-released six albums of original music compositions,〔(David Dillehunt at Bandcamp )〕 and is a founding member of the indie rock band Butterfly Vendetta.〔(Lewis Black presents Charlottesville's Top 25 )〕 Dillehunt also serves as Broadcast Director for the City of Charlottesville, in the Office of Communications.〔(Charlottesville Other City Manager Staff )〕 Since joining the department in 2005, he has overseen the production of numerous television series and civic meetings for the PEG cable stations of Charlottesville.
